since i am taking a break from the awful world of integrals (please excuse my offensive language Henry), i thought it'd a good idea to write of a recent, memorable experience:

it was an honor to shake hands with mr. Chuck Colson at the moody church last friday

mr. Colson was a feared politician who worked for Nixon and as a result of the watergate scandal was put into prison for a few years. He became a Christian while he was still incarcerated and dedicated the rest of his life to serving God in prison reform/fellowship. so now for 30 years, he has led the world's largest outreach to prisoners, ex-cons and their families, total outcasts of society .

this friday it was a celebration for his 75th birthday and 30 years of prison fellowship ministry. along with a message from mr. Colson himself we heard 3 life-transforming testimonies of the impact of htis minitry. out of the two ex-prisoners was lady who was became widow of 4 young children when her husband died of drug abuse in his early 30s. she then turned to alcohol, drugs, and prostitution to "relieve" of her of the pain. while driving drunck one night she hit a another car and instantly killed the other driver.

can you imagine having to live with the guilt of killing someone as the result of a wrong you have made?

"Sin will take you into places you do not want to go. the darkest places" she said. life to her then was a living hell. after coming to Christ through prison fellowship, she found forgiveness from the One who should comdemn her the most.

"Jesus will take you everywhere you desire and need to go." the conversion of her life is even more amazing than her words. she has been completely sober now for several years. she leads sunday school classes, visits prisoners and their families often, and is a faithful evangelist.

total transformation of a life. God's work at its finest.

three things reiterated:

1) God's a better savior than we are sinners -Amos Yang

2) the best testimony we can give is the new life in Christ that we lead.

3) Remeber those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselfves were suffering. --Hebrews 13: 3 (Bible Quizzing Hebrews!)

have a good night's rest and a good week everyone!
